Living in the Mediterranean cities in the context of climate change

There is a strong consensus in the scientific community that urban agglomerations influence/control the final state of the thermal environment, by means of intensifying extreme weather such as strong heat stress, convective precipitation and poor air quality. Towards this objective, this session aims to collect state of the art studies that focus on the assessment of global warming and resilience plans for Mediterranean cities, modeling of thermal urban environment, green cities, public health and extreme weather (heat and cold waves) in cities, urban heat island and mitigation strategies, remote sensing methodologies (drones, lidars and satellites) for urban climatology, urban design and planning towards sustainable cities, air quality and thermal comfort in the city.
