General guidelines

You should expect an audience with a wide and diversified expertise. Please, take care to properly introduce your research to make its main message understandable including for researchers that are not specialized in your field. Select figures and text in your presentation accordingly. Please remember that this conference serves as a scientific network to promote better communication among different scientific disciplines.

CHAIRS

Chairs should make sure that the time available is divided equally over the papers to be presented. Average time available for each presentation, including chairs’ and general discussion, is around 15 minutes for the oral presentation. The suggested time allocation is: 12 minutes for presentation, 3 minutes for questions and discussion. The duration of invited presentations is 30 minutes, including 5 minutes for questions. Chairs are invited to use any residual time for allowing further discussion from the floor. Presentations will be carried out in English.

Guidelines for poster presentations

Maximum poster size portrait orientation is 90 width x120cm height. In any case, horizontal size must not exceed 90 cm. The totems where we display the posters are large 90 cm so please avoid larger format. Please hang your poster in the designated panel in the morning and remove it at the end of the day of your poster session. Posters left on panels at the end of the day will be removed and thrown away. During the poster session the presenters are available to the audience for questions and discussion. If you need a print shop near the conference venue, we will suggest you one in the next coming weeks.

Guidelines for oral presentations

A computer and a projector will be available in the room for presentations. We assume that these devices will be used by presenters for their PowerPoint presentation (or PDF format), which can be brought along on a USB memory device. To avoid loss of time, hooking up of personal laptops is discouraged. Presenters are invited to the room 10 minutes prior to the start of the session, so that presentations can be uploaded onto the computer before the session starts. Average time available for each presentation, including chairs’ and general discussion, is around 15 minutes. The suggested time allocation is: 12 minutes for presentation, 3 minutes for discussion. Presentations will be carried out in English.

Poster print service

A service for printing the posters at the Conference is available at the cost of 10€. The poster should be emailed as a PDF file within Thursday 19th September (After this deadline, there is no warranty that requests will be accepted)
